The hotel was easy to get to with plenty of parking (£10 per night). The staff were very friendly and the hotel itself was very clean with plenty of seating in the foyer area, a little bar and tea and coffee on tap. The rooms were a decent size with comfy beds, tea and coffee facilities, tv and a heater if needed. You can opt for a racecourse view for a little bit extra money, but we chose not to. The shower was excellent with plenty of towels and shampoo/bodywash etc. Breakfast was buffet style with a good selection of cereals, fruit, and full english, fruit juice etc and the area was spacious with plenty of tables that were cleared quickly. The location of the hotel is also excellent, not only for the racecourse, but it is a couple of 100 yards from the city walls, so giving access to everywhere in the city without having to negotiate traffic etc. The centre has an amazing selection of shops, food outlets and history so well worth a visit, but doesn't have the crowds that York does. If you are looking for a cozy character hotel, then this isn't it, however, for location, facilities and staff it is perfect

Easy 4/5 mins walk into Chester plus plentiful easy parking £10 per night. We arrived very early to make the best of our stay and could park up and leave as and when we wanted and just pay for the nights we were stopping, not by the hour during the day/night (just mention to them prior to visit and they will expect you and a warden will book you in). Full range hot and cold breakfast choices. Also, throughout stay (even before book in times) complimentary tea/coffee/hot choc downstairs. Standard room perfect for our needs with all expected basic facilities. Bathroom with plentiful Dove complimentary body wash/shampoo/ liquid hand-soap / towels / hair dryer tea/coffee kettle etc. Staff lovely and accommodating at all times.

On our weekend stay , the staff were very kind and friendly , room was nice and tidy , but there was quite a bit of dust on the back and arms of the sofa bed that was in our room , we did not need as we used the bed . and im not one to complain about things that do not affect my stay . thet only thing i would say is , the road was a bit noisy in the morning so if you are a lite sleeper this will bother you . and the coffee at breakfast was liked warm water , i no places cut back on things like this but i love my coffee , this was not what i would call coffee , more warm brown water .

Andy

Room was clean and comfortable but facing a busy road so traffic was sometimes audible. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. I liked the fact that there was free tea, coffee and hot chocolate available in the breakfast area … round the clock. The breakfast was self service with a good selection of choices for food and drinks. The location was very good and it was an easy walk into the city centre for Christmas markets, shops, bars and restaurants. The price of the stay was very competitive and included breakfast.

Maria

Excellent location. The room was warm and generally well-appointed. The breakfast was plentiful, hot and tasty with good choices. Kelly is a gem and recommended that we visit the zoo. The hotel offered discounted tickets and we had a fabulous time. The staff in general are so friendly and knowledgeable about the area.
